Staff Biographies
Arnold Keller, MA, LMSW, Executive Director of PCS
Arnold Keller has a wide range of experience as a family and addictions therapist as well as the co-founder of PCS in J980. He currently directs the Gamblers Recovery Program as well as the "Break-Free" nicotine dependency program. His experience includes positions at Ypsilanti State Hospital in Michigan and at Broward County Mental Health Centers in Florida. Arnold serves as a Clinical Associate for the Meadows Institute in Wickenburg, Arizona, an inpatient program for the treatment of sexual addiction and chemical dependence. Arnold Keller was awarded Diplomat status by the American Board of Certified Managed Care Providers and is a clinical member of the Society for the Advancement of Sexual Health (SASH).
George Daigle, PhD, LP
Dr. Daigle is a Licensed Psychologist and received his Ph.D. in 1981 from the University of Detroit. He specializes in the treatment of adults and senior citizens for mood disorders, adjustment difficulties of adulthood, anger management, substance abuse, and other addictions. He also develops psychological assessments for medical, mental health and competency issues. Dr. Daigle has practiced as a Psychological Forensic Examiner for the State of Michigan at the Forensic Center in Ypsilanti since 1987.
Russell Dore, EdD,LP
Dr. Dore is a Licensed Psychologist and received his Ed.D in Counseling Psychology from the University of Washington, Seattle. He also holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Psychology from Michigan State University. He has worked as a clinical psychologist for the Veterans Administration and as counseling and organizational psychologist in industry and private practice. Dr. Dore specializes in career, marital, and family counseling and offers comprehensive assessments of addictive disorders. He has extensive experience in individual and group psychotherapy and assists parents in the management and parenting of children and adolescents. Dr. Dore is also provides alcohol assessment reports for the State of Michigan Driver's License Appeals Division, and has extensive experience in the Substance Abuse field.
Bruce Malcom, PsyD, LP
Dr. Malcom is a licensed Ulinical Psychologist and Diplomat of the American Board of Professional Psychology. In 1993, he graduated from the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology with a Doctorate in Psychology. He also received a Master of Science in Community Health from Northern Illinois University in 1969. Dr. Malcolm has had years of experience with troubled youth. His specialty is getting to core issues with adolescents and children ages 8 and older. Dr. Malcolm is experienced with administering psychological testing, which is often necessary when dealing with school/learning related problems. His therapy goals are to identify the area of life where coping skills are failing to meet current needs and providing new/improved skills. Dr. Malcolm also offers therapy based on Christian principals if requested.
Marilyn Makowski, ILMSW Clinical Aerapist
Marilyn Makowski graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Masters of Social Work in 1998 with a concentration in therapy for children, families and substance abusers. She has worked for the Department- of Veterans Affairs where she specialized in the treatment of Veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Ms. Makowski's specialty focuses on work with children, including such difficulties as depression, anxiety and concentration issues. She has also had extensive experience with adults and children dealing with physical, emotional and sexual abuse and the repercussions of such trauma.
Robert Salvatore, MA, LPC, Gamblers Recovery Program
Robert Salvatore is co-director of the Gamblers Recovery Program and graduated from Wayne State University in 1980. He is a fully Licensed Professional Counselor, and has served as a clinical therapist for Brighton Hospital in Michigan, and has extensive experience in the Substance Abuse field. Mr. Salvatore received his Masters Degree from the University of Detroit and has completed advanced gambling-specific training at the Michigan Council on Problem Gambling. Robert Salvatore is contracted with the State of Michigan funded treatment network for gamblers and their families and currently offers gambling presentations to community groups throughout the state.
Kathryn E. Eckerd, PhD, LP
Dr. Eckerd works with adults at PCS's Brighton Counseling clinic in Brighton. Dr. Eckerd earned her Ph.D. in psychology from NOVA Southeastern University, Ft. Lauderdale, Fl. in 1992. Prior to moving to Michigan in 1998, Dr. Eckerd worked full time in a well-established private practice in Coral Springs, FL. Dr. Eckerd earned her Masters Degree in 1983 and was employed as a therapist for the Child Protection Team of Broward County, FL. As member of the team, Dr. Eckerd conducted psychological assessments and provided psychotherapy for children and adolescents who were emotionally, verbally and sexually abused. She has also been employed with St. Joseph Hospital providing services offered by their out patient mental health centers. Currently, Dr. Eckerd sees adults (ages 19-70) who experience mood disorders, domestic violence and childhood history of abuse, divorce recovery and career/workplace issues. Dr. Eckerd is a member of the American Psychological Association.
Debbie Koeltzow, Ed.D.,LP
Dr. Koeltzow received her Masters Degree in Counseling in 1989 from Central Michigan University. She is a licensed psychologist and received her Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Western Michigan University in 2000. Dr. Koeltzow has been working in private practice since 2003 specializing in individual, family and couples counseling, as well as advocacy with schools and courts. Her therapeutic orientation focuses on diagnosis insight, and providing coping mechanisms with an understanding of client self determination. Her experience also includes group therapy, with focuses such as communication, assertiveness, relationships, boundaries, money management, in addition to groups dealing with co-occurring disorders, addiction awareness and treatment motivation. Dr. Koeltzow has also provided substance abuse assessment and counseling for veterans at the VA Medical Center in Madison, WI and has served as Clinical Director for the residential treatment program for foster care teen girls at Girlstown Foundation in Belleville, Michigan. She works with adults, adolescents and children at both PCS in Northvale and at Brighton Counseling, our Brighton Clinic.
David Rigo, MS, LLP
David Rigo received his Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Madonna University in 2003. His focus included individual psychodynamic psychotherapy and comprehensive psychological assessment. As a therapist at the Madonna University Psychology Services Clinic, David Rigo, conducted psychotherapy and assessments with children, adolescents and adults. He has worked with individuals with severe emotional disabilities and pervasive developmental disorders such as Aspergers Syndrome. In addition to his private practice at PCS, David Rigo, is an instructor of Psychology at Oakland Community College.
Robert Hermanson, LMSW
Robert Hermanson received his Masters in Social Work from Wayne State University in 1996. His specialties include therapy for children, adolescents and adults in the Northville Clinic and Brighton Counseling. Mr. Hermanson provides adult addiction assessment and substance abuse counseling as well as gambling addiction therapy. His experience also includes work with Arbor Hospice and Home Care, HOSPICE of Michigan, Community Network Services and Lifespan Clinic Services. Doopyo Hong, M.D.
Dr. Hong is a Board Certified Child Psychiatrist and a Board Certified Adult Diplomate of General Psychiatry, and has provided psychiatric services for over 32 years. Dr. Hong served as a Psychiatric Resident at the Coatesville Veterans Administration Hospital in 1979 and completed his Child Psychiatry Fellowship at Wayne State University affiliated Lafayette Clinic in 1981 Dr. Hong provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication recommendations for children, adolescents and adults, in addition to regular medication reviews, and in conjunction with therapeutic interventions provided by our associates.
Janet Thurber, LLMSW
Ms. Thurber received her Master of Social Work and School Social Work Certification from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, 2005. She has practiced as a therapist for The University of Michigan Center for the Child and Family providing clinical social work services to children, families and couples. These services focused on a variety of behavioral, social, emotional and psychological difficulties. Ms. Thurber also offered intensive services to overburdened, multi-problem family systems involved with the Department of Human Services. She has been a substitute teacher within the Northville School District, and has served as an advocate for children and families coping with issues around the ADHD diagnosis, Ms. Thurber's therapeutic intervention focuses on developing clinical approaches that include psychodynamic, family systems and person-in-environment framework with a strong emphasis on developmental issues.
